Survey results and interpretation

How are the results calculated?
Patient responses are added and divided by the number of patients who responded to calculate an average score.
What is the impact on the practice of a provider with a limited number of responses?
By using a weighted average, we safeguard against results being skewed by a single provider, role or location.
What do the N's mean?
N's = number of patients who have provided an answer to this question.
How can I see how many patients took the survey?
You can see the number of responses collected for each question by hovering over the data points on the charts. An information box will display listing the number of N's, or patients who have provided an answer to the question.
How can I see how my practice is performing compared to other practices?
By adding a Benchmark to your charts, you can compare specific attributes against All Other Practices that are being surveyed through the platform.
I would like to compare my practice to other practices in the country and region. How do I do that?
Benchmarking against other practices is currently only available at the National level. Simply add the 'National Average' Benchmark to your chart to conduct a comparison.
How can I see what questions the patients see?
In the title bar of the chart, you can select the information ('i') icon which will display the text for the question.
What time frame is used to calculate the Practice Average and National Average Benchmark?
We use a rolling 13 month window or all of the historical data that is available if 13 months of data has not yet been collected to calculate the benchmark.
Can I print the charts?
You can print any of the charts by clicking the printer icon found in the title bar of each chart.
What time frame does the Monthly for Practice cover?
The Monthly for Practice report will show data for the last 14 months, unless there is less than 14 months of data.
What time frame does Recently by Provider and Location cover?
The two Recently reports show the last two months of data, if you want to see up to 14 months of data, then use the Monthly for Practice, you can change the selection to show data specifically for each Provider and Location.
How can I view the results for a specific time frame? I want to view for an entire year, or quarter.
Currently time frames are determined by the type of report that is being viewed.
How can I see what answers patients provided on individual questions and comments?
We do now have the option of exporting individual responses. On the Dashboard under Administration tab, select Data Export and Comments Export.  If you select Individual Responses it will give you the results for each patient.  If the patient allowed their responses to be attributed to them, their patient ID will appear.
Can I see which patient added specific comments?
Unless a patient allowed the comment to be attributed to them or used the Service Recovery feature, we cannot disclose their identity.
When are the results updated in the dashboard?
Data from previous months visits will appear in real time, current month visit data will appear after the 10th for visits from the 1st to the 10th. After the 10th all new data is presented in real time.

Are there any reports that are sent via email to the practices?
Yes, there are several reports that are emailed to providers and practice administrators. Those include Free Form Comments, Report Card report, and Outlier Reports.
What if a patient starts the survey but does not complete it?
All responses provided by patients are collected, aggregated and represented in the Dashboard. If a patient does not complete the survey, those questions that are answered are collected and reported through the dashboard.
